  • Cross it, reach the other side of the bridge, and from there to enjoy the wonderful view of the old city. Belloto also called Cannaletto and nephew of the famous Canaletto painted these views in beautiful pictures over and over again... And almost is preserved exactly equal

  • The Augustus bridge is a bridge that must've seen in life. Impressive, it stretches across the Elbe at Dresden and connects the Dresden's old town to the new town. There, the "Golden rider" (August the strong). The Augustus bridge affords magnificent views of the Semper Opera House, the Palace and the Brühl terrace. At the time it is renovated apparently in some areas. That hindered but not the views of the old town.

  • View from Augustusbrücke, the main bridge into the old city of Dresden. From Berlin, I took the DB Bahn (intercity train) and stopped by Dresden on the way to Prague. A pretty popular itinerary in recent years because Dresden only 2 hours away from both Berlin and Prague. Instead of a day trip, I chose to instead spend the night in the city, which turns out to be a pretty good move. I get to explore the city in a slower pace, and enjoy a beautiful evening view. You might have guessed, but the beautiful city as seen here from Augustusbrücke is actually fully rebuilt. The old city suffered devastating destruction during World War 2 and remained in rubbles for decades later.
  • Bridge that crosses the Elbe right near the historic old town. A pleasant stroll to get some really good views of both parts of town.
  • Eine Überquerung wert!
  • It's great to be idly watching the river. Murals, Cathedral etc. .. I suggest you go take a break I'm in the middle of the
