(3.8/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy a bird's-eye view of Dortmund from the observation deck of Florian Tower (Florianturm). Named after Saint Florian, the patron saint of gardeners, this TV tower was built in 1959 and was temporarily the tallest structure in Germany. At 219.6 m (720 ft) high, the tower offers 360-degree views over Westfalen Park and the entire city. Just below the observation decks, you can watch the sunset as you dine in the revolving restaurant. On the top observation floor, check out the installation and antennas for Deutsche Telekom, which has been transmitting television signals since the tower's inauguration. • A good example of german engineering in a very nice park (Westfalenpark). So if you go there you'll have a tall tower to see from above the park and the city. The entrance in the park is 1.5 euros/per...  more »
  • Dear interested, well, Dortmund is not the idyllic city of Germany - but she has flair! In the course of restructuring, not only Dortmund has changed, so also the entire Ruhr area. Instead of coal dust air, are instead of BB´s 'schwatte the knee"is BB´s IT! Dortmund now presents itself as a cosmopolitan city with a penchant for "direct and short conversation"! Instead of one: "One's beautiful Hello, how are you?" BB´s gives a brief: "tach Ker, like isset? Good? The main thing!" Such a phrase belongs to the "good sound" in the Ruhr area and is only positive to understand! The "Potti" expresses this his interest and his empathy!; p good - so much to the people living in the pot in Dortmund... Now to Dortmund on... Dortmund was "even" relatively undamaged from the 2nd World War. This explains the quite different buildings of the city with buildings different design and different construction date. An impression is evident in a walk through the streets. Well, there are better and worse places, I think however, that exists in every city... In addition to the different types of buildings, Dortmund offers a variety of culture. Is it the art of brewing, football, art, history, theatre, or different music events! Dortmund is well positioned for each and every one. Now to the heading, the Florian Tower... The Florian Tower is the landmark of Dortmund. He is nothing special at first a TV Tower, as a result so actually so, but he offers in itself a restaurant with fine cuisine (price also raised due to kitchen and location!). In addition, he offers an observation deck for visitors to weather an extensive impression of the city and its surroundings to get. Unfortunately - and this should be also noted, he is located in the dortmunderischen "Westphalia Park" - and which is unfortunately subject to entry! :( The "Westfalen Park" is a landmark of Dortmund, however, besides the Florian Tower and the Westfalenstadion (aka Signal Iduna Park) also. He is a good and beautiful to looking at horticultural gem of the city with different/seasonally changing selections (this includes "Googling" separately). In the end: I moved to Dortmund from Münster 3.5 years ago and do not regret this step! On the contrary, Dortmund is the best housing decision I've ever met! I feel very comfortable here! :-D Come, experienced Dortmund and is your own judgment! :-)

  • Is something else in airy heights. The Park could bring some news. From the system, everything is good and nicely designed.
