Enjoy a bird's-eye view of Dortmund from the observation deck of Florian Tower (Florianturm). Named after Saint Florian, the patron saint of gardeners, this TV tower was built in 1959 and was temporarily the tallest structure in Germany. Just below the observation decks, you can watch the sunset as you dine in the revolving restaurant. On the top observation floor, check out the installation and antennas for Deutsche Telekom, which has been transmitting television signals since the tower's inauguration. • About the tower itself little is to say special - just a functional building without flourish. The interesting thing here is clearly the views which can be enjoyed in good weather over Dortmund and the surrounding area.
