St. George Church, Dinkelsbuhl

(4.4/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Pick a sunny day to climb the 220 steps to the top of St. George Church, which offers sweeping views of the city and the surrounding area. Considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture from the 15th century, this church is one of the city's main landmarks and a major tourist attraction. Located in the heart of town, the core of the building was constructed sometime in the 1400s, adding on to older structures that already existed in this area. A tall tower was meant to be built at the northern end of the church, but the ambitious plans had to be put aside due to a lack of funding. The church was eventually extended to an old tower already in existence, once a freestanding structure just to the west of the main building. • Located in the main square of the town, which is already an attraction in itself. Inside there are the remains of St George, to see the pulpit and baptismal font supported by Lions. If we go under Christmas beautiful the crib that comes alive with the insertion of a coin from 50 cent,

  • Very interesting church with living history. Necessarily belongs to the city's history. Recommended at any time of the year

  • The Münster is rather inconspicuous from the outside, especially since the tower is not so high. For this he is inside beautifully decorated, with beautiful images of the suffering of Christ, several altars and a wonderful organ. Especially the organ concerts of the series "organ are recommended to half", where you can watch the organist directly over his shoulder, a real Visual and audio experience.
