Old Town, Dinkelsbuhl
(4.7/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
As one of the only remaining walled medieval towns in Germany, Dinkelsbühl's Old Town paints a strong image of the Middle Ages through its streets, churches, and buildings. In the heart of the Romantic Road, the town was a former free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire and has remarkably remained unscathed during the World Wars. The charming historic center houses mercantile buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries. Other notable attractions here include the gothic St. George's Minster, the Castle of the Teutonic Order, and the Historical Museum. You can access the town from four of the wall's 16 towers. • This city, they should call ...denn in the same breath with Rothenburg on the Tauber. because this city is roughly even in the Originalzuatand. Unfortunately, Rothenburg was bombed, thus, around 40% of the historic buildings were destroyed, but renewed back as far as possible after the war in the second world war by the allies. Rothenburg has more attractions, visit Dinkelsbühl should in any case, here you have with more peace of mind to enjoy everything. Rothenburg is therefore interesting for the guests from the far East and overseas. A Carolingian Royal House is documented for the year 730, but the old town was already called to 1130. Today, the city presents itself very effectively in historical garb, 12 films in these walls were made. You can find here more than 7 towers that are partial goals. Visitors have their cars to park the possibility in the District of the old city, I highly recommend the Schwedenparklplatz to the ZOB. Children will be bored probably under 12 years, is well known that limited its absorptive capacity.

  • I give the focus right, which confers the title of "Germany's most beautiful old town" Dinkelsbühl. Beautiful, well preserved half-timbered houses with many quaint guest houses, hotels and pubs, as well as the majestic city gates. Dinkelsbühl is addictive!
