  • This is a great piece of Germany's history! We enjoyed hearing about it and walking the grounds! They do have an obstacle course that looked fun but we choose not to do it.  more »

  • The Hermannsdenkmal is one of Germany's most impressive monuments. Its architecture is majestic and its location on the top of a hill makes it even more impressive. The view of the surrounding landscapes is stunning. The only negative element is that the monument is rather remote and it's very complicated to get there via public transit.
  • The Hermannsdenkmal is a very impressive monument celebrating the Germanic tribes victory over a Roman legion. No small feat!! The monument itself is magnificent and it's hard to believe humans engineered it in the late 1800's. The views are nice and the walk there from the parking lot is about 400 meters with a slight incline. The park includes several gift shops, museums, play area for children, a high ropes adventure course, and at least two restaurants (cafe and a sit down). Unfortunately, I went on a day of snow and the majority of the aforementioned were closed. Fans of history... a must. Otherwise, it's a nice place to go if you want to be outside.
  • Impressive statue. There is a visitor centre opened fully Apr to October. Plenty of food options available and loads of walks around the local area. Great place to take children to.
  • Well laid out monument and climbing area
  • Good place to visit if you are in the region :)
