  • Travelers who are interested in the development of modern house construction, are here very welcome. Straightforward, open, communicative, interactive, practical, working and living and relax, now better insulated and heated, of course, and now the furniture and lamps and dishes and products are available with which to fill these houses. How incredibly, that the followers of a hateful, loathsome dictator and his murderous minions suppress this development of a gesamtkunstwerk of life and learning, work and living, could destroy and expel into exile. What a social progress in architecture, art, painting, music - you can call not all - has been thrown back here for a hundred years! Socialism, too while getting ever deserves no credit, but spiessbürgerlich to market the buildings.

  • You get only with a guided tour in the master houses. Here you can see that the masters have lived at that time in an architectural revolutionary environment, today you would see more differentiated. Small rooms, unit color about something sterile. One learns much about Kandinsky, Velcro and Gropius. And also about the unspeakable behaviour of the GDR in dealing with these jewels. You can book this tour, also for 12 euro in the Foundation Bauhaus

  • In addition to the recovery of the Bauhaus, one can visit today the ensemble of the master houses again. Not everything was retained, two buildings were built new. The accompanying story from GDR is worth the visit alone. Otherwise, it's fun to see how Director Gropius approved is the largest House and he had a garage only. All others were duplexes, something bigger was the smaller one for married couples for families. Great idea to separate toilet and bathroom and cooking area and sink. Fascinating she thought through interior design as a whole. It was probably more than today in thinking 100 years ago.
