  • So as to refer to Art Nouveau Centre, I believe the Mathildenhöhe greatly exaggerated. There stands a tower surrounded by a few villas from the Art Nouveau period. That was already BB´s. They have cities such z.B Wiesbaden where in an alley more art nouveau houses are in quite Darmstadt. Such places are hyped up to attract tour Gallery, which was BB´s.

  • Matildenhoe - it's low and flat hill. The main place in Darmstadt, apart from Hundertwasser’s "Forest Spiral" in the north of the city, which from here you can reach by walk for half an hour. The conc...  more »
  • --I'm biased! I am (a very long time ago) grew up here, the Mathildenhöhe was our Playground (brilliant). The place very positive has changed over the years. Contrary to an assertion here on TripAdvisor can be done quite much. There are Cafe a very nice Museum, in the summer also with tables out there. The salads or the cake there are highly recommended. Two museums, in well and then you can either admire a Kunstaaustellung or marvel at the small museum behind the Nice shop at the permanent exhibition to absolutely brilliant everyday objects from the Art Nouveau period. The architecture does not forget... Granted, if not interested, is it somewhat boring for it be. But why not even admire the design of furniture, tableware and other items was as imaginative. Are also some houses to visit, there are also the wedding tower with the world-famous mosaic (the Kiss), and just behind the Mathildenhöhe the beautiful rose heights, since then beautiful flowers can be admired. Children can romp without problems, there is a long flight of stairs with large steps, one down can run beautifully, in the Plattenenhain there are dappled shade, and large stone figures, which we are climbing decades ago.

  • Pretty area to explore in the city. The tower is beautiful as it stands out in the city with the sun clocks on the side.
  • not to miss if you are in Darmstadt. Nice walk on sunny days, lovely places to discover nearby
  • THE highlight of Darmstadt. Again and again! And then in the Café at the Mathildenhöhe with super nice service.

  • The Mathildenhöhe is probably the high point of a visit to Darmstadt. The Mathildenhöhe offers much education thanks to the artist colony. And the environment is very harmonious and calm. Stylishly built buildings are strung. Recommend a visit to Darmstadt.
