  • I never thought that the tomb of the three kings at Cologne. If it can be defined as well, this addition to the staircase is the main attraction. The great golden Sarcophagus is located behind the main altar. stolen by Frederick Barbarossa in 1162, was then placed here two years later. Only eight hundred years later, Italy, by means of the Archbishop of Milan, was able to obtain a partial refund of the relics. Deserves a serious historical study. Consider that the incessant shelling of the city destroyed virtually everything that surrounded the Cathedral, but not the basilica itself. Many believe that this is attributable to security generated by the three kings.

  • One of the main reasons to visit the Cathedral apart from the impressive building itself is to see the shrine of the Three Kings. Very busy and many people are also trying to view this.
