I went to the arena for a THW Kiel vs FC Barcelona handball friendly match. Good atmosphere, nice toilets, central location, comfortable seats and food and drink served inside.  more »

Simply fantastic atmosphere at a concert with Phil Collins and son Nicholas Collins on drums.

We were at Lanxess Arena to watch a game of Handball between Kiel and Barcelona. As we were staying near the Arena, we went on foot, but there is access by train, subway and bus is very easy! And for those who want to go by car has a gigantic parking and easy access. The site is very well organized, there's turmoil at the entrance or exit. The place is marked and you enter through the gate that gives access to your ward. Food options are the same as qq elsewhere of Cologne: bread with sausage, Hamburger, fries, nachos, and of course, lots of beer. The prices are a little salty, I paid a cappuccino and a EUR 7.00 popcorn ... kkkkk upon leaving the Arena take a walk to the Cathedral, is a beautiful ride!

  • I went to watch the Ice hockey world cup... by far the best vanue I have ever seen. The place is amazingly clean for a this big platform. The roof was was also stunningly clean. The light system and sound system is like best in the world. I guess this arena is one of the best in this world.
  • The acoustics here are only good in the lower areas of the arena so bear this in mind if buying tickets! I have seen several bands here and the only decent sound was from a place in front of the stage at floor level. However I highly recommend the tickets with food and drink in the backstage restaurants - excellent
  • Aerosmith concert. We bought 4 tickets 80 euros each, and the sound was not even reaching there. Although we booked for the area across the stage knowing possible problems regarding the venue's acoustics, we were forced to swap seats for they decided to close the upper tier, and we had a horrible concert experience. Absolutely no respect for the audience
  • Great convenient place! Went there for the Armin Van Buuren embrace concert. It was great. Toilets everywhere. Big central arena... alcohol and food booths everywhere. Very good engineering and architecture
  • We were here for a concert. Our seats (lower level, near the stage) got good sound. All was well organized.

Along the semicircle are hotel chains and boutique accommodations that offes ready access to the city center on foot or via a short metro ride.
