Where to stay in Cologne

The Ring is a semicircular area around the edge of the city's walls from Chlodwigplatz to Ebertplatz. Along the semicircle are hotel chains and boutique accommodations that offes ready access to the city center on foot or via a short metro ride. For access to nightlife, consider the Südstadt area known for its rock bars, cocktails, and theaters. The luxury accommodations in the elegant Friesenviertel area often attracts local celebrities. Search for lodging deals in the Nippes area, which is away from the busy center and known for its local character.

  • The museum tells the story of the original establishment of the cologne industry. The perfume's story is engaging and the presentation is informative and interactive.  more »

  • Neat little piece of history where you can learn a bit about where the perfume Cologne started, take a crack at identifying scents, and they give you a parting gift that sells for more than your ticket. The original scent is very pleasant without being overwhelming but they do have additional scents in the shop as well.
  • Excellent 30 minute background of perfumes. Enjoyed it. Also a very nice shop that sells perfumes from the family for the original Eau De Cologne
  • Free sample with your ticket. The ladies at the counter are incredibly nice and beautiful.
  • very interesting place to visit and learn about the first eudo cologne and the ingredients. do not miss it while visiting the city.
  • Had an amazing guided tour by Tim. One of the best tours - informative, funny and something to take back home. Perfumes and Colognes are not something I think or knew too much about - but this changed my perspective.
