Botanical Gardens Flora, Cologne

4.5
#2 of 111 in Parks in North Rhine-Westphalia
Both a municipal park and a botanical garden, Botanical Gardens Flora, designed by renowned Prussian gardener Peter Joseph Lenné in 1864, contains more than 10,000 different plant species. Close to the left Rhine banks in the city's north, this 11.5 hectare (28 acre) garden includes The Flora, which occupies the southern part of the park and features a waterfall and a flower garden with a central fountain. More exotic plants, such as orchids, cocoa plants, and succulents can be found in the large greenhouse. The northern botanical garden is categorized according to plant type. In the summer, try to time your visit with the annual Zoo and Flora Summer Night, which offers a music program and a nocturnal visit to the zoo. • The flora is the most beautiful sight for me in the spring, when everything starts flowering beautifully. You can admire plants there that you get to see elsewhere have never or never again. Walks, plenty of benches are beautiful there to the stay are also available. What the gardener about bring is enormous. Be sure you have seen the cacti, you will feel like in distant countries a must for every Cologne or Köln visitors

  • I love this place!! To spend moments of relax, take beautiful pictures and take a delicious breakfast in Dank Augusta! The species are all identified and cataloged. The trees are so big they hardly fit in the picture!! Are beautiful!! Is an excellent ride for those who went to the Zoo because it's super close!! Free entry. The garden is open until 9:00 pm in the summer.
