Zoo am Meer, Bremerhaven

(3.8/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Sitting next to the river Weser, Zoo am Meer is home mainly to Nordic and aquatic species. Opened in 1928 under the name Tiergrotten, the zoo has expanded greatly over the decades to accommodate a greater variety of animals. Some of the more popular animals here are the polar bears, the South American sea lions, seals, and Humboldt penguins. Look for a number of reptiles and land animals, such as the mountain lion and the chimpanzee. Check for animal feeding times on the zoo's website. • The Zoo is small and easy to commit, but impresses with its structure. Many aquatic animals can be admired from the bottom in the water through large Windows. For the children there is an adventure playground and a great slide.

  • Really very small but nice Zoo. Also suitable for small children. We have the Zoo with our five-year-old daughter visited, due to the large glass Windows, all the animals could very well see. Recommended (only the coffee in the Cafe did not taste).
