Tetraeder, Bottrop

(4.7/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Climb 60 m (197 ft) to the top of Tetraeder for views of the Emscher Region and greater Ruhr Area. Standing atop the old Halde Beckstraße mine dump, the steel tetrahedron appears to hover above the ground, thanks to its innovative, weight-bearing structure. It can be seen for miles around and is a well-known landmark to Bottrop residents. Stop to rest on any of several platforms along the stairs before continuing to the top, which is lit at night in the green and yellow creations of Düsseldorf artist Jürgen LIT Fischer. A visit to Tetraeder represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Bottrop trip itinerary maker to plot your vacation.

  • Great views. Also very nice in the evening. With a glass of sparkling wine, just switch off and stands above everything else.

  • A wonderful landmark in the Ruhr area. Great views rewarded for a strenuous climb. Always again good to see home from above.

  • Great Panorama from the top and often used as photo spot for more or less awesome pictures.
  • Super Ausflugsziel.
  • Great panorama view especially when the sky is clear.
  • Cool place. If you happen to be around Bottrop go visit, but do not travel only for this one.
  • An impressive experience and great courage that I passed. I was at the top. 😎
