Tetraeder, Bottrop
(4.6/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Climb 60 m (197 ft) to the top of Tetraeder for views of the Emscher Region and greater Ruhr Area. Standing atop the old Halde Beckstraße mine dump, the steel tetrahedron appears to hover above the ground, thanks to its innovative, weight-bearing structure. It can be seen for miles around and is a well-known landmark to Bottrop residents. Stop to rest on any of several platforms along the stairs before continuing to the top, which is lit at night in the green and yellow creations of Düsseldorf artist Jürgen LIT Fischer. A visit to Tetraeder represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Bottrop trip itinerary maker to plot your vacation.

  • Great destination! After a climb that sometimes caused palpitations, through the grille, you get rewarded with incredible views over the Ruhr area to the lower Rhine! One of the best and most beautiful landmarks of the Ruhr area! Worth a visit!

  • Looks pretty safe. The location was super. Surprisingly, there was not even a ticket booth.

  • In the former ugol'nodobyvajushhej area of Germany now many unusual attractions that put on the site of the former coal mines, ennobling the landscape. Well done to the Germans! No abandonment-ekrugom one beauty and well groomed even in former industrial zones. In Bottrop for example is steel tetrahedron. In this design, you can go upstairs, 3 viewing platforms at a height: 18 m, 32 m, 38 m near the stairs leading upstairs, glass floor and climb horribly scary, especially if you're afraid of heights or empty space. The spiral staircase is also not devoid of extreme. But if you reach the top, you will feel the real hero! At the top of the obduet you are not weak breeze, you perk up and down will be a little easier (if you do not watch your step!). Tetraedr beautifully illuminated in the evening. Parking is free of charge. This place can be considered an original spot for photo shoots!

  • Great Panorama from the top and often used as photo spot for more or less awesome pictures.
  • Super Ausflugsziel.
  • Great panorama view especially when the sky is clear.
  • Cool place. If you happen to be around Bottrop go visit, but do not travel only for this one.
  • An impressive experience and great courage that I passed. I was at the top. 😎
