Basilica of St Martin, Bonn
(4.3/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
Basilica of St Martin has been included in the Bonn coat of arms since the 13th century. The pointed spires and rounded naves on the exterior of the building were constructed between the 11th and 13th century. The church invites you to enjoy a moment of peace away from the busy city streets among its 19th-century furnishings and collection of iconolatry. Print out the basilica's website, which serves as its brochure, and bring it with you on your visit. A small map on the second page numbers the points of interest inside the cathedral, such as the altar holding the remains of Cassius and Florentius, two martyrs whose deaths inspired the church's construction. Put Basilica of St Martin and other Bonn attractions into our Bonn family vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • During a visit to Bonn may be a tour of the Munster certainly not lacking. Nicely located on the square and beautiful from the inside. Nice volunteers know to tell something about the organ.

  • German cities are famous for their cathedrals. No exception-and Bonn. The Basilica of St. Martin is a place worth visiting. It looks fine on the outside and the inside is very interesting. Noteworthy monument of St. Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, as well as unusual stained-glass Windows. Lovely body. Next to the Cathedral square with a monument to Beethoven-composer, was born in the city.

  • The Basilica looks nothing special from the outside but once inside the transformation is amazing, it's not exactly Cologne cathedral but it's worth a visit. Also don't forget to look at the cloisters
