The country's oldest and best-known zoo opened in 1844 and covers more than 34 hectares (84 acres). More than 3 million visitors each year come to the zoo and its adjoining aquarium, making it the most-visited site of its kind in all of Europe. Absolutely perfect zoo!! The buildings in the zoo were so fun and well done and it made us feel like we were at a theme park. So many animals and so well kept. This is one of the best zoos I’ve ever been to!! I have already recommended for anyone visiting to go here. It was very large and you could easily spend the entire day there. They are also adding a huge new area that looks like it’s going to be super nice and I want to go back and see that once it’s done!

One of our favorite family go to places in Berlin. It's always a delightful experience and a great way to spend the afternoon. Very informative as well. Staff will occasionally stand near various places to answer questions and there are lots of informative plaques. And, very important to us, the animals never seem board or complacent. The environments are very well kept and there are always new things for the animals to see or explore. An overall great experience Everytime.

I really enjoyed walking around this zoo in the nice weather this week, and the animals seemed happy overall. I would highly recommend checking out the night time exhibit under the tigers and other cats along with the panda exhibit! The aquarium is definitely worth a visit to check out the jellyfish too!

There are plenty of places to eat inside. It is very organize and friendly for the kids. There is an amazing playground inside. It is pretty easy to walk with the stroller. I will recommend to check the website to see the eating times of the animals and I will highly recommend to buy the tickets online to enter as soon as you arrive. During the weekends is always full but at the weekdays is always nice to go to the playground or walk around. There is also a nice Store at the exit to get some nice souvenirs

It is a very nice zoo. The animal residents are big. They try to make them look like their natural habitat. Most important, animal spotting was relatively easy. The only negative point is that the zoo lacks logic walking routes and it is quite big. The zoo had quite a lot of stands for soft drinks and ice (perfect for summer). The restaurant menu was alright though not too extensive. The food was relatively good for a zoo. About the animal residents, note that this review comes from a person that comes from the Netherlands, which has the Arnhem zoo with probably has the best animal residents in Europa.
