See one of the most comprehensive collections of wild animals in the entire world--nearly 20,000 animals--at Zoo Berlin. The country's oldest and best-known zoo opened in 1844 and covers more than 34 hectares (84 acres). More than 3 million visitors each year come to the zoo and its adjoining aquarium, making it the most-visited site of its kind in all of Europe. The zoo is known worldwide for sheltering endangered animals, such as polar bears and giant pandas. Check the website for feeding times and other special events. • Nice quiet place in the middle of Berlin. Ideal for walks to see a brilliant zoo. Avoid peak times during Saturday and sunday
  • Love visiting this zoo while on my first trip to berlin. Great staff very welcoming and they have wonderful souvenirs of high-quality to buy. Best to get a dual pass where you can go to the aquarium which is in the same location for a better price
  • One of the biggest and most beautiful zoos in Europe. It's big and the animals have enough space to live. The stars of the zoo, the polar bear, the gorilla or the lion, are hard to get a glimpse of, sleeping or hiding. The playground for children is really fun, the access is relatively simple since it's located in the center of the city, and the facilities are clean and accessible. The Aquarium is really interesting too, worth paying the extra 5 EUR to visit.
  • Had a blast at this place. The animals were beautiful and there is a large variety of them here. What blew me away completely was the kids playground. It's unique, not a typical playground. Definitely a great place to bring your kids. The food is also good here. However, I feel like it's a little pricey but that's to be expected. On the whole - I definitely recommend this zoo, especially if you are a kid or have them.
  • Huge sprawling zoo filled with animals from all over the world. Habitats are well maintained and all easily visible. Feeding time is hugely entertaining. Overall fantastic zoo well worth the entry fee
  • Definitely one of the best Zoos in the world! "The most comprehensive collection of species in the world" is not a marketing trick, it is true. Animals from different climate zones, of different sizes and different habitats. The layout of the zoo is thought through. It is very clean and all the animals are cared about to the best of capability. Great experience! Set aside half a day or a full day (if you are with kids). That's the place I want to return to one day and show my kids all the wonders of the nature.
