  • This is an unusual museum tucked in a bit hard to find part of the Kruetzberg neighborhood in central Berlin. It is about the Werkbund design philosophy which defined good taste in product and furnitu...  more »
  • Short visit, 1 to 2 hours, very nice to stroll. With young people who love the vintage, family, fun to recognize known objects in childhood. There is the evolution of materials used in everyday objects. Presentation that allows you to retrace its steps; want to comment on tips and widgets to our loved ones... very nice and very busy!

  • The second (or third?) I was in this small museum / Werkbundarchiv... There are many curious, interesting, funny, odd, forgotten things to discover in the numerous showcases... It's fun to watch and be amazed at, and to revel in childhood memories. Who is looking for something different outside the mainstream, which is exactly right here! I like it!

  • I liked it, but you shouldn't expect too much. I needed a museum to kill 2 hours and that's pretty much all the time you need to see everything there is. Nothing too special, just post world war Krimskrams.
  • Lovely collection of 20&21 century objects. Cozy, friendly and a must for all lovers of things & design.
  • I like this museum so much! Because this museum is full of love for stuff. So many DDR dead stock stuff in this here. And this museum staff is so nice! My best Berlin museum ever !!!! I wanna go to this museum again!!!!
  • A neatly arranged collection of things that gives some structure to a hoarders dream. Love the idea of understanding the times through the daily items. Had a side exhibition on the evolution of the understanding of materials. Wish there were more translation.
  • A nice collection of little things, objects with symbolic value that remind us of a recent era. Fascinating collection of everyday items. Carefully curated objects of notable design, worth a visit for a few hours.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
