Unter den Linden, Berlin

4.0
Saunter down the tree-lined paths of one of Berlin's most well-known boulevards, Unter den Linden. Comprising the grassy pedestrian area between two roadway lanes, the street stretches east to west from the Stadtschloss royal palace through the historic city center. Along the way, you'll find historic monuments, trendy shops, and traditional cafes. Visit the street's oldest structure, the Zeughaus, to admire fine Baroque architecture. Then tour the German Historical Museum before ending your walk at the notorious 18th-century Brandenburg gate. If you visit in the early summer months, you'll be able to see the linden trees in full bloom. Arrange to visit Unter den Linden and other attractions in Berlin using our Berlin online trip maker .

  • Front away, one must say that by the construction site of the U5 everything currently not-so-great looks. However, can you stroll here beautiful State Opera (also with construction site), past at buildings such as the Hotel Adlon, the Russian Embassy. Gastronomically there place here by the Curry, to the hotel also some offers.

  • ...Summe I so in front of me, than to stroll along shady Linden along under the shadow is fun, you can explore and go on a Käffchen in between. OK, is currently much construction site, but where not. This way to stroll, Humboldt University, Memorial alter Fritz, State Opera, Castle site, etc. Is mandatory for all Berlin visitors.

  • At its junction with Friedrichstraße this avenue is the cross of the Centre of Berlin. Explore it is to see and contemplate great buildings, with spacious sidewalks and in constant boiling of people going from Museum Insel at the Brandenburg Gate and vice versa. I recommend walk it late in the afternoon.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
