Treptower Park, Berlin
(4.6/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
At Treptower Park, you can walk across the historic Abbey Bridge. On the other side housed in an old observatory, you'll find the giant, refracting telescope, which is 130 metric tons (143.3 tons). Before you cross, though, take time to admire this side of the river. The park is one of Germany's first recreation areas specifically designed for public use. The 4 km (2.5 mi) pathway near the riverbank is home to restaurants and cafes. You'll also find the famous Soviet war memorial created in 1949. Hop on one of the boat tours if you'd like a relaxing ride around the area. Plan your Treptower Park visit and explore what else you can see and do in Berlin using our Berlin itinerary builder.

  • Treptower Park-the most sacred place for the Russians in Berlin. Mass grave of more than 7000 Soviet soldiers killed in the capture of Berlin.

  • The Treptower Park is excellently suitable to make a nice walk. At first it seems still somewhat boring, but you can make a detour on his way East to the famous monument to the fallen Russian soldiers and then passes on the spree to many small bars and Cafés. It's really cozy! More can be a bit over the bridge and you reach a small island, where you can comfortably sit on the shore. There are paddle boat and canoe rentals. The Meadow invites you to linger and picnicking. Grilling is unfortunately prohibited!

  • It is priceless, it is impressive. It has great symbolism, is a giant extension of pure emotion and silence. It is difficult to access, even though it has nearby means of transport, but it is worthwhile only for stays in the city. If it is short stay, I think that there are other things to know because this visit takes you almost 3/4 of the day.

  • One of the best parks in berlin. It's big, it has a soviet memorial for patriots and it has a burger king for the tourists. So far so bad, but the good things are the relatively clean park areas(compared to other Berlin parks) less idiots and other criminal folks walking around and you have the beautiful Spree right next to the park. There's also a harbor for tourist ships offering trips on the Spree.
  • By far one of the best parks in Berlin. It is huge and quite relaxing to walk around esp near the water and the view of the ferris wheel ahead. One of the three Soviet Memorial is located here. The Soviet Guard who holds a child is one of my favorite statue.
  • Beautiful Park! Very large and big there are places to chill everywhere! Near the Spree you can rent boat, have lunch on a boat, etc.. There is also the Soviet Union memorial in the south part of the park which is a beautiful monument! I recommend!
  • Not a bad park in the summer. Plenty of space for some sports and nicely situated beside the river.
  • Beautiful and not too crowded because it is fairly unknown. Great place to see!
