Treptower Park, Berlin

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web
At Treptower Park, you can walk across the historic Abbey Bridge. On the other side housed in an old observatory, you'll find the giant, refracting telescope, which is 130 metric tons (143.3 tons). Before you cross, though, take time to admire this side of the river. The park is one of Germany's first recreation areas specifically designed for public use. The 4 km (2.5 mi) pathway near the riverbank is home to restaurants and cafes. You'll also find the famous Soviet war memorial created in 1949. Hop on one of the boat tours if you'd like a relaxing ride around the area. Plan your Treptower Park visit and explore what else you can see and do in Berlin using our Berlin itinerary builder.

  • I only spent there time to run 30 minutes, but suddenly I did the tour, a Sunday morning. Practitioners of yoga, runners, people who drink coffee or beer, campers, dirty corners, clean corners, families on the Bank, technicians who prepare a concert... A summary of Berlin actually.

  • Visited this park in may, on May 9, when Russia celebrates victory day. In the park there were so many Russians, who also celebrated the holiday, placed flowers at the foot of the monument to the soldiers Memorial. Park looked very well-kept, in contrast to the Tiergarten, lawns, flowerbeds, pavement-everything was good. A pleasant stroll in the park or sit on benches in fine weather.

  • One of my most favourite park! Big, beautiful, it´s a cool and hip park. With cool ppl. No drug selling there, no crime, a very relaxed, cool, hip, peacefull park. Laying on a beautiful river. VISIT IT!
  • The park is getting more beautiful with the work the city puts in it. Great place to be, good Spätie in the S-Bahn station
  • The Soviet War Memorial he is one of the most amazing places to visit in Berlin. Go. I insist. A stunning reminder of the history of Berlin and sacrifice of the Russian Army.
  • Probably the most beautiful Park in this city, but people are littering all over it in such high quantities that the cleaning staff can't really keen up, it's a shame but be aware that there might be litter on the grass occasionally.
  • The Russian Monument is impressive, but behind it there is an amazing lake where you can bbq and go swimming. The part of the park next to the Spree river is very nice. You can buy delicious smoked fish and there are some places where you can sit down to have a beer. If you keep walking east you will come to the abandoned spree theme park which is very cool.
