  • This is a great zoo to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed ourvtime there. The sculptures throughout the park were wonderful. I have never visited a zoo with so many animals in each species. The train that r...  more »

  • We got there pretty late (it was closing in two hours) so we had to rush to see the most of it. It's great to see that animals have so much space, some sections are huge. You can go to place with lemu...  more »

  • A beautiful countryside Manor home surrounded by wild animals! Experience of a Lifetime making friends with a beautiful lemur!! No where else but here! Only one problem - totally lacking in adequate signs!! Took forever to find the lemur exhibit- on a side path - and an innocuous doorway to the meet&greet section to the right of the wildlife exhibit. As well, I only saw the erstwhile wonderful, highly touted train ride as I was leaving, 5hours later. Would have Loved to have taken it as an introduction/preliminary overview of the enormous park. It's so wonderful that dogs are allowed, but there should Definitely be water stations for the suffering pets along the way. Lots of ice cream/soda options for people, but not their animals. An animal park should know - and plan - better. Lots of fabulous double-wide reclining wooden chaises to sit and enjoy the view - and take a breather from a lot of walking! Once found, the lemur experience will leave you filled with joy! They climbed up on and snuggled two girls confined to wheelchairs who laughed and giggled till tears rolled down their cheeks....mine too.
  • One of the largest zoos in the world. Huge range of species including lots of different types of hoofstock, birds of prey and pheasants. Most exhibits are outdoors and the whole zoo is impossible to cover fully in one day. Animal houses are for monkeys, sun bears, crocodiles and elephants & rhinos. Most animals have adequate enclosures but there are some areas for improvement like the sun bears.
  • Always great visit the Tierpark. Some buildings haven't changed since I was a kid a now I come to visit with my little family. Trip down memory lane. Great to see that some of the buildings get a much needed update (lions house at the moment). The new restaurant is great, love the aquariums. Be sure to bring 4€ in coins if you wanna park at the parking lot 😉.
  • Full of beautiful animals but less zoo than park. Kids can run free and safe. We go every Sunday!
  • Many animal species, the polar bear, monkey houses are my favourite. Really amazed to see the tropical houses which have many colorful birds. Cool place to spend time with family, better go on sunny day you can see some activities. I went on a cloudy day and some of the activities are closed

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
