Covering more than 210 hectares (520 acres) through the center of the city, Tiergarten is one of Germany's largest urban parks. Its beginnings trace back to the 16th century, when the area was designated as a royal hunting zone. Later, as the city expanded and the hunting grounds shrank, the park became a popular relaxation area for the general public. Today, the Spree river and a number of important architectural landmarks border the sprawling park grounds. Look in the middle of the park for a large square with a tall column that the locals the Great Star. It was placed here in 1864 to celebrate Prussia's victory over Denmark. • I'd been on a crazy multi-country last-tour type of thing, so I was pretty tired by the time I got to Berlin, but this place was pretty great. It's not just a park really, there are monuments strewn t...  read more »

  • The park boasts a 250ha to visit, several lakes and enough flora and fauna... Offers many corners where you can stop and are very beautiful, but there are few places where you can sit to rest. In the middle of the Park is the statue of victory, to the side also is in the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and the Memorial to the Jews.

  • The "central park" of Berlin. Super beautiful, lush green park with lots of paths for walking, running, or riding your park. Plenty of different types of spaces for different activities - shaded quiet areas to sit and chill, open spaces to play games, little ponds to hang out by, etc. Given the proximity to some of Berlin's most important landmarks, this is a must see for anyone visiting the city.
  • The Green Lung of Berlin City 💚🌳 What a beautiful place to walk, run, relax and lots of more things to do! Spring is such a beautiful time to stroll around the park! Love it! ✌🏻️💚
  • The park is really big, but it's well sign posted throughout. Getting lost in there wouldn't be a problem however, it's beautiful and peaceful. It's also very clean and well maintained. A must for any tourist visiting the area!
  • I like this lush, peaceful and spacy park a lot more than any of the historic monuments around it.
  • The green heart of the city. Perfect for an afternoon stroll, go for a run or lay down on the grass and relax.
