  • Very nice presented and well staged with acoustic music from original recordings of "personalities", such as Walter Ulbricht's most famous lie: "... no one has the intention to build a wall!" This chapter of this SED wrong regime must never be forgotten! Many people come here to life who wanted nothing further - as freedom!

  • For 10 Euros I was expecting something more. One room has a lot of great pictures and most are explained in written German and English. The other room is the giant panorama projected on a huge curved ...  more »
  • Actually, a bit expensive for what it is when there is little explanation other than in German and English. But still, the voices of the era at the time where they write the story, it's not nothing! Several small films show the construction of the wall, life before / after and "panorama" reveals many details of the daily life of the time. Too bad it is not a film about such a screen, we could have "live" history! Good point: do not forget that it is for each person to write this story on a daily basis, you are invited to leave your message! Kids love!

  • The experience of what people went thru during those days is what you exactly feel. Great efforts done to create this one for sure. Should be experienced when in Berlin. Lucky to go on a day, you pay what u want to check out for it.
  • Come on Monday, you pay a little less for it. You pay want you want. The museum is a big dome shape painting with special lighting effects. Its very immersive and you cannot find something more immersive than that. They use different lighting to emulate the day and night behind the wall. Really nice. Apart from the painting, you have various photographs showing how people destroy the wall and other relevant picture about the wall. Visited April 2017
  • Tourist trap, €10 p/p for some history which could be a whole lot more interesting than a photo with some sound.
  • Interesting idea, but a bit underwhelming. Also too expensive for what it is.
  • The panorama is the main thing obviously and you get a great experience with it. Not much else to see. You need about 30-40 minutes you visit. €10 entrance is too expensive, it should not be more than €5. Fortunately on the first Monday of the month (between 16:00-18:00) you pay what you want, so I used the offer to pay less.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
