  • Baroque royal palace, the place was used by the nazis to store the artworks of artists deemed "degenerate" by the regime. It then housed the Presidency of the Council of GDR and served at the reception of foreign guests. Different facilities follow each other and are really original and interesting testimony. Excellent welcome and exciting tour.

  • Schönhausen Palace was the summer residence of Queen Elisabeth Christine of Prussia of Frederick the great's unloved wife of over 50 years. In the ground floor of the Castle are exhibits of the Queen today, upstairs is in addition to the GDR guestrooms, where among other foreign State guests have gene eight side, also a Department with rescued works of art of the East Prussian Princes zu Dohna-Schlobitten. The purple bathroom which extra new was tiled for the State visit of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands has me especially in memory remained. Schönhausen Palace is not crowded unlike other former Royal residences in Berlin-Brandenburg. You can book a guided tour or look around with Auidoguide itself.

  • something far away located in the District of Pankow, but bus 200 m, U - / S-Bahn Pankow walking away for all who care for the story on the edge of the large, you finally also to life and work of one of the little-known women of Prussian history much about private but also public can learn: who knows about that Elisabeth Christine Frederick absence in the Berlin Palace led the Affairs of State? But also to the State guests who saw the House in the course of time, because it was not only Wilhelm Piecks seat, but also Hostel of the GDR. Be surprised by many things in the House, carefully renovated and restored...

  • A good starting point for seeing charming, sleepy Pankow. The park continues to get better and the exhibitions on the former royal palace then DDR guest house are revealing of Germany's unique brand of Stalinism.
  • Very nice place to chill under airplanes
  • Great palace and nice park!
  • Very beautiful area
  • One of the most beautiful parks in Berlin! Very well maintained, very large and especially not to run over. With children here has fun in the countryside and the wide Street is within walking distance, if you want to have an ice cream.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
