  • The Thai park is a great place to spend a Sunday tasting exquisite Thai street food. There are many options available and even more stalls. The park is big enough. Almost all the delicacies are prepar...  more »
  • "Well, are you selling cockroaches again?" "I have cockroaches, only water beetles and grasshoppers!" This dialogue between two vendors, of course, with strong Thai accent, plays himself, as I prepare fried insects to me at one of the many stalls of a shell leave - which are delicious, by the way, and better than anything I have eaten what insects in Asian or Australian restaurants in Germany. In our (the gastronomy with regard, rightly) regulated country so slightly hardly seems possible: ambulatory stalls under the open sky, in the warm months every Saturday and Sunday. There is a wide selection of Thai street food (excellent), cocktails (not always good), and lots of atmosphere. When choosing the food you should focus on the provider really fresh, prepared to order. It takes slightly longer, but then also the quality is correct I Cook and eat preferably Asian, and watch in 10 minutes I learned more than in ten years kitchen practice. Longer looks at the goings-on at the stands then striking, that behind each (most are women) cook a German man, typology "Early retirees" or "Seeking work", is more. In the best case, he cleans up and ensures order, mostly it depends but just and look evil.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
