Oranienburgerstrasse, Berlin
(4.2/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Oranienburgerstrasse, the former center of Jewish life in Berlin, is now known for its restaurants and lively night scene. Walk through the streets to admire street art and people-watch; stop into a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars; or try the Kunsthaus Tacheles, an alternative art center and nightclub. Visit the New Synagogue, famous for being saved during Kristallnacht, or one of the many other Jewish landmarks. Several hotels and hostels provide overnight accommodations. The street is also known for its prominent, legal prostitution at night--something to keep in mind if you're traveling with children. • I walked along this street looking to find a nice Bar and place to eat and there were lots to choose from! Very safe and a classic hobo street in Berlin. Enjoy!
  • Very interesting go at night, even a beer in one of the many bars there. The history of this Jewish quarter sees his highlight on this street that houses the new synagogue in Berlin.

  • There are lots of bars and restaurants in this cool little area of Berlin. There is also the old Jewish Synagogue (which I believe is now a museum). The building is absolutely stunning. Worth a visit.
