  • To access the museum, you must walk through an alley of impressive street art and cafes. The museum itself gives a very touching/emotional experience. The Information that is presented on the walls and in displays is interesting and informative. You could spend an hour in the museum with that Information alone. Take it up a notch and ask for a free audio guide, and you could be in the museum for two/plus hours. I have learned so much from this museum and will go again.
  • Museum about brush manufacturer, Otto Weidt who employed deaf and blind Jews during the Holocaust. He also helped them from persecution. The museum tells the stories about different employees and there families. This is free and down an alley with a lot of street art.
  • A very interesting place with a sad story. Otto Weidts bravery during WWII is inspiring! I always take my tourists there.
  • Nice. historic. And streat colture graphtys everywere.
  • This is a quiet museum, no glitzy displays or computer interaction but it's all the better for that. This was a workshop in which blind Jewish people made brushes and the owner did his best to try and save as many of them as possible from the Nazi camps. It's understated but shows the humanity of the owner and the tribulations of the workers. The area around it is worth visiting as well.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
