  • If that was the DDR, I lived 40 years in another country. A Panopticon of buffoonery, interpreted by in the "old" Länder raised young historians and some leftover system critics from the period. Very interesting exhibits very badly interpreted. The "unjust society" peeps from all cracks, and about the stone age people in the GDR may quietly hearty laugh. This smells strictly according to German arrogance and features very well dealing with the history of the GDR. Some statements referring to culture, healthcare and education are outrageous, and the attached exhibition to the East German design is just plain cruel Colportage. I wanted to see the exhibition necessarily once - but against this garbage the DDR Museum am DOM is Yes defies all weaknesses worlds better.

  • The Museum shows a very beautiful exhibition with Exponanten of the former GDR in the Kulturbrauerei. The life of the population and the role of the State are very well represented. This exhibition is very much informatiever than that in the DDR Museum on the river Spree.

  • This free Museum provides an excellent evocation of life in the GDR without the spectacular or moralizing to other sites of this style. The location is very good, an audioguide in french is provided free of charge to home. The documents, video and objects plunge you into this world.

  • One of the very good free museum of Berlin. It is located, in a remote part of the ex-eastern Berlin. Like most museums in Berlin, they kind of forget the tourists in terms of translations. Most but not all of the explanations are in English and the rest in German. However, they have made an instructive, playful and original museum. You will learn a lot about all the aspects of the daily life of eastern Germans. The building in itself (former brewery) is also interesting. Put this on your to do list.
  • It's a very informative and educative museum about the DDR time. Little is told during history lessons in Holland so was lots of new information. Big plus as it's free!
  • Amazing look into the lives of people in the GDR
  • I enjoyed it. I recommend it.
  • Great museum that is a must for tourists
