Mauerpark, Berlin

4.2
#4 of 55 in Parks in Berlin
Established by city officials as a green space after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Mauerpark contains a piece of the former barrier between East and West Germany. Take a walk past traces of the Wall from Behmstrasse along Norwegerstrasste toward Bornholmer Strasse. You can also see remnants while walking along Bernhauser Strasse from Eberswalder Strasse in the direction of the Berlin Wall Memorial. At the memorial, peruse the flea market for vinyl records, East German memorabilia, or new and vintage fashion. • This is a real flea market in that it is full of tat. It is so bad it's funny. You could buy anything you want there. It is very busy and was mobbed when we went on a very cold Sunday Lunchtime. I tho...  more »
  • After the concentration camp, we decided to go since it was Sunday, wonderful day for the wall Park! A great Park, which will not get bored in a good time. You can find places to eat sitting or while you walk because of the large number of jobs that exist, and not only food, also of things to buy both new and used, and it is here where you will notice tells people everything but sells todooo! Even what you think to throw away because you see it super unnecessary! You bored looking things! There are stalls of food, drinks and desserts and coffees! There is a basketball court where that day were playing, there is an area of stands where there was a karaoke, a karaoke mega! And as viewers... the number of people it was infinite. As you're walking you're finding groups playing there themselves, or hippest groups playing instruments of the most rare... smoking m, drinking... a multicultural environment is locked up there on Sunday! We ate at a few posts that nothing had right enter, currywurst and other since there they cooked on the grill another type of typical sausages served with a type of typical cabbage there, and none of the 6 we were there we liked Despite having good looking. There was also a post only drinks, beers in bottles, jars, or soft drinks. The menu between 5 - €10. And drinks from €2 onwards.

  • Great Sunday flea market in Berlin with lots and lots of stands filled with beautiful second hand stuff, and original clothing and accessories of local artists and designers. Around the market there are food stands and musical entertainers. In other words, you can have a wonderful day out here!
  • A great place to chilled out during the weekend, especially on Sunday. Where there’s rows and rows of fleas market stalls. On the open park you’ll find lots of ppl hanging around enjoying the sun and music. Do try both the lower and upper side of the park as it offer a different view. If you are lucky, you may catch artists at work on part of the Berlin wall on the upper side of the park.
  • Went there on a sunny Sunday and spent about 3h walking around- could’ve spend a few more. Time flew and made some great finds. A really cool shop that sells jewellery & little metal/mosaic hand bags was a great find! Will definitely be back when in Berlin!
  • Even when is full of tourists, I enjoy this place a lot. In the market u can find many weird and Vintage stuff.. then the park is beautiful full of street artists. Great to buy some beers and walk around
  • Such amazing vibes on Sunday. So many locals, so many BBQ's with random music & dancing breaking out. Clown like comedians on the stage for the amphitheatre. Such a massive market. A little hard to move where the food is, but aside from that, Sunday afternoon done well!
