Mauerpark, Berlin
(4.2/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Established by city officials as a green space after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Mauerpark contains a piece of the former barrier between East and West Germany. Take a walk past traces of the Wall from Behmstrasse along Norwegerstrasste toward Bornholmer Strasse. You can also see remnants while walking along Bernhauser Strasse from Eberswalder Strasse in the direction of the Berlin Wall Memorial. At the memorial, peruse the flea market for vinyl records, East German memorabilia, or new and vintage fashion. • take the S-Bahn to the Bornholmer strasse and get with the bridge with cold war history (spy Exchange) before you go down through the mauerpark and further along the wall in the Bernauer strasse to the Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer

  • An excellent diversion to recover from the feast of culture of museums in Berlin, the Mauerpark flea market offers products to suit every taste: good quality vinyl, shoddy goods and modern handmade jewelry (for which dominate the Italian hand-maker). At the bottom of the market a couple of Bistro allow you to refresh themselves in anticipation of the karaoke of 15 (which, unfortunately, we missed out on because we had a schedule dense!)

  • Having visited Berlin many times during the time The Wall was there I have deep feelings about what the city was like during the times it was divided. The Park is a fitting monument to those who died ...  more »

  • Great flea market every Sunday. You can find vintage clothes, accessories, cameras and any kind of weird stuff. If you're a tourist you should definitely go.
  • The Sunday market is great. Lots of good food and articles. You can find almost anything. Try the arepas for some tasty south american food. Just go hangout with the different performances and the famous karaoke (around 3pm)
  • Almost all shops (except restaurants) are closed on Sundays, making this a very good Sunday activity (it's only open on Sundays anyways). There are also Karaoke sessions at 3PM which honestly you have to experience it to know it.
  • Love the place. Specially on Sundays, super lively with lot's of variety of food to buy and live free music
