  • Small museum with 1 room and a grocery/convenience store. Normally not worth the ticket price but on Mondays there is free access, so look here never hurts. Sometimes fun exhibitions.

  • We came here to buy the Kaffee Form Coffee Cup, which we got! We ended up looking around the art, and really enjoyed it. It is free on Mondays. The locker room costs €1 to leave an item.  more »
  • This place is having a Burle Marx exposition this summer that is a must for the ones who appreciate landscape designers and / or Brazilian artists. Small but very well curated show with a bit of every...  more »

  • Interesting contemporary art exhibition, nice small location, very fair pricing. We took a guided tour and our guide was engaging and very knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to visiting again once a new show is up.
  • I saw a great exhibition here. Nice cafe and museum shop, great exhibition space, well curated.
  • Nice little gallery in Berlin. Pro tip: Its free on Mondays
  • Mondays are free, and the exhibitions alternate. I saw a brilliant exhibition with a massive Jackson Pollock painting and the works surrounding that style and epoch. Worth checking out, even if it weren't Monday.
  • Very small but interesting exhibition on contemporary art. I spend 20 minutes and enjoyed it a lot, beware of the back room - it contains interesting art but in includes quite explicit sexual material not suitable for children (or homophobic people 😈). It is a quite calm place good to escape the crowds of museum island for a little while

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
