#38 of 121 in Museums in Berlin
Specialty Museum Museum
A project of the Berlin City Palace, Humboldt-Box is a futuristic museum that displays the city's collection of Asian art, ethnographic artifacts, and Prussian objects. The octagon-shaped, glass building is surrounded by manicured lawns that are covered with residents' picnic blankets on fair-weather days. A restaurant with a terrace overlooking the lawns is on the attraction's top floor. Enjoy a glass of German wine there after touring the eclectic collections inside the large, open rooms. Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.

  • Free museum! Very intriguing exhibits. It's worth a visit!
  • Totally like it, so kcuh info about the berlin palace, great Terrasse on the top floor with great views. Love it
  • Nice little exhibition for the new palace building and also a good view of museum island from the top!
  • Quickly, because in 2019 this lovely futuristic construction will be removed (and Berlin will by then have dozens of new exiting places, it's such a vibrant city!). Free admittance to the museum, and evidenly great views from the rooftop restaurant.
  • It's free and good experience to see different things like these in photos.it'll be close in 2019 when works done in Humboldt.
