Food & Drink
A hip brewery and bar, Hops & Barley maintains a rotating list of seasonal beers, offering visitors a chance to try something new every time they drop in. The bar's three rustic rooms are tightly packed with wooden tables and chairs, attracting both locals and tourists with old-fashioned charm and an outstanding selection of beers. As you walk in, notice the large copper vats scattered throughout the three rooms, visual reminders that every beer offered here is brewed on the premises. Be sure to try the bar's signature brews, including special wheat and dark beers. Keep in mind that the bar does get extremely crowded in the evening hours, so try to arrive early to grab a good table and engage in relaxed conversation with the brewery's friendly staff. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Berlin holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Hops & Barley and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Can you like good beer and cosiness are Workshops & Barley instead. Try that their specialty beers, not better. If you are there when the brewmester is that it is possible to get a good talk about brewing beer, etc.

  • Nice chill bar where they offer good house-brewed options. Plenty of seating in front room, and then in the back room they have more seating with a big screen for watching football. During warmer weather tables are set up outside for enjoying good beer outside. Very relaxed and staff are usually friendly. Crowd is not touristy, which is very different for the area and makes this a nice escape.
  • I am so happy to see micro-brew beer making it's way to Germany and this brewery really knows what they are doing.
  • Some spectacularly tasty brews served up the day I visited by some very friendly and affable staff. Very erasy to get involved in conversations with those sitting next to you and whilst they don't serve food, they're happy for you to pop across the road to Shilling to get some burgers and fries (worth doing!) Highly recommended, especially if you can grab a seat outside in the better weather.
  • Great little place that brews their beer. Was there in passing, and ordered a pilsner. The beer is absolutely great tasting, and in an hour after opening was heaving with locals. Cheap too, €3.50 per pint. From what I could tell they do big bottles for take away as well. Highly recommend.
  • Cool place. No food at the time we been there (past 00:00). Nice beers.
