Categories: Food & Drink
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web
A hip brewery and bar, Hops & Barley maintains a rotating list of seasonal beers, offering visitors a chance to try something new every time they drop in. The bar's three rustic rooms are tightly packed with wooden tables and chairs, attracting both locals and tourists with old-fashioned charm and an outstanding selection of beers. As you walk in, notice the large copper vats scattered throughout the three rooms, visual reminders that every beer offered here is brewed on the premises. Be sure to try the bar's signature brews, including special wheat and dark beers. Keep in mind that the bar does get extremely crowded in the evening hours, so try to arrive early to grab a good table and engage in relaxed conversation with the brewery's friendly staff. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Berlin holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Hops & Barley and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Having visited a few other microbreweries in more northern Berlin we took the S-bahn over to Ostcreuz to give this one a quick try. Really liked it, great old pub ambience, bustling but friendly atmos...  read more »

  • not much to say but this is a great place to go for a wind-down-beer. Atmosphere is good, staff very attentive and a good selection of beer. You can't go wrong.
  • Some spectacularly tasty brews served up the day I visited by some very friendly and affable staff. Very erasy to get involved in conversations with those sitting next to you and whilst they don't serve food, they're happy for you to pop across the road to Shilling to get some burgers and fries (worth doing!) Highly recommended, especially if you can grab a seat outside in the better weather.
  • One of my favorite bars in Berlin. Homemade Pils, Dunkel, or Weizen, plus two other fresh and always changing specials, like Pale Ales, Maibock, etc.
  • Awesome micro brew pub - they offer classic german style beers and some craft beer inspired beers. Small snacks are also available.
  • The local draft beer selection is basic, but nicely brewed. I especially enjoyed the wheat beer that they served. The atmosphere is intimate, frindley & the service is kind (the staff spoke English quite well). On the down side, There was no food selection when I arrived, except a mediocre sausage, but the bartender told me I could bring the food with me.
  • Great little place that brews their beer. Was there in passing, and ordered a pilsner. The beer is absolutely great tasting, and in an hour after opening was heaving with locals. Cheap too, €3.50 per pint. From what I could tell they do big bottles for take away as well. Highly recommend.
