  • Hackescher Markt is a square in the central Mitte locality of Berlin, Germany, situated at the eastern end of Oranienburger Strasse. It is an important transport hub and a starting point for the city'...  more »
  • We spent the morning in this area looking for a history of the people who lived and died in the escape from East Germany. There is a small but packed with all and more of the story.

  • In this very attractive tourist area, you will find everything: shops to shopping, bistros, clubs, hotels/hostels. And full life, if you like it.

  • Lovely place in the center of Berlin. Nice restaurant and bars. Great place to start your evening
  • This place have a special charm. The mixture of history is subtle. I love the vibe in the evening, trams turning tight corners and passing under arches of elevated train (S-bahn), the mixture of pubs and restaurants... just lovely. Really a must see in Berlin.
  • Always bustling with enough bars/restaurants to satisfy anyone's tastes. Especially good sitting outside with a drink on a warm day watching life go by in all its ways.
  • I love this area of Berlin! There are tons of little cafés and you can wander around public patios in different buildings... it's just amazing
  • Berlin today is an eccentric mix of art and culture that is almost raw and gritty. I love the vibe of this city despite its exterior. Deep within the Hackescher Markt is a hidden enclave that exemplifies this energy, the Haus Schwarzenberg. This is the part where joining a walking tour really shines: you getting word of such hidden gem that only a local would know.
