Garten der Welt, Berlin

4.3
#8 of 35 in Parks in Berlin
Take a break from the bustle of Germany's capital city at the themed gardens of Garten der Welt. While exploring the 21 hectares (51 acres), you'll be transported to Japan, China, Bali, Korea, Italy, and Morocco. Each area is designed to reflect the architecture, vegetation, and climate of the region. Feel the heat in the Balinese garden (which is inside a greenhouse), and admire the Arabic tile work of the Moroccan garden. Have some fun navigating the maze. Finish your visit with some refreshments from the Chinese teahouse, Chinese restaurant, or French cafe. • I can understand the disappointed. The site is huge and the landscaped gardens is quite small. You said what could not be designed to "Nature". And yet, a visit is worthwhile - if also quite expensive. There is the cable car to the and about the "cloud Grove", a panoramic view of 'building' (Yes, it's more than a tower), which come up something like mountain feeling. The landscaped garden areas are jewels, which lie mostly in the border area and should that be not distracted by the remaining meadows and marshy terrain and especially rush in this large area effectively. There are also several playgrounds for children, that man alone but probably not the Park visited. I also understand that travel by car is annoying and I therefore recommend the south entrance to the underground Kienberg. The journey time is longer than with the car also with transfer twice.

  • This time, we have seen at the "gardens of the world" in the context of the IGA. You even have to experience that. There are so many highlights; starting with the cable car, the Kienberg, the markets and the shows. We were on the Elvis show: unique. If you also want to experience that, should visit "Stars in Concert" in Berlin. Plan a whole day for the IGA.

  • a nice place for a leisurely stroll through the gardens from around the world and among proposals for Green designers really interesting ... very pleasant the cable car trip up the hill from where you can admire the whole Park and the skyline of Berlin. .. the cost is adequate

  • Japanese, Korean garden
  • Incredibly beautiful park, has many different parts making it so pleasant you can ' hide ' somewhere here.. everyone can find something to focus on. The beauty of the gardens is truly magnificent! Personally, I find the Chinese garden the least impressive. The more the water gardens.

  • Very large installation. Those who already know the garden discovered only a few new places. Much there was also previously and is not new. On hot days very exhausting because there are hardly any shadows. The flower Hall with constantly changing exhibitions is beautiful.

  • The gardens of the world are always a sight for sore eyes. It's created. Ask to stay. Is always fun.

  • Anyway very nice here, but in terms of service, a lot could be improved given the admission price. The cable car ride is a highlight in any case.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
