Galeries Lafayette Berlin, Berlin

(3.5/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Get a taste of France in the heart of Germany at Galeries Lafayette Berlin, modeled after the original French department store in Paris. Though it was built in 1996 with a modern air, it is somewhat smaller, yet still manages to capture some of the same Parisian charm. Browse the many shops with mid- to high-end brands, and enjoy some French culinary specialties in the food hall beneath the stores. Check online for events like readings or wine tastings. • Modern architecture and class is at the height of chic! Next to Gendarmenmarkt, the place is really nice, but for products nothing extraordinary, it's still the Galeries Lafayette! There is an entire floor to eat. Nice, but not worth a special detour.

  • Gorgeous food basement (I could live there), and various high end beauty and accessories on the ground floor. The place to shop with someone else's credit card. It is possible to spend 200E on face cr...  more »
  • I thought finding a very expensive place, but the prices were quite reasonable for a high-end luxury store. Don't miss the gourmet section, which is in the lower level. Just don't give full marks, because I still think the galeria Kaufhof (at Alexanderplatz) has more options.

  • Visited this place in August 2016 just to buy an umbrella because it was quite a rainy day. Ended up spending a good sum of my traveling budget! 😀 Some very good discount (60%) in most brands!
  • Last years collection of clothes are not so interesting. Service food in the down part is nice and it's a pleasure to have a coffee here time to time.
  • Love it. Good sushi and food in General. Precaution: its expensive
  • A little bit of France! Am a regular client at the food corner underground. Very pricey, but they have "roquefort", this great French cheese...along with a lot of other delicacies.
  • Beautiful shopping center, food is also available. Don't expect anything cheap in here.
