  • The French Cathedral is situated on the Gendarmenmarkt. Especially the rise (250 steps) is worth! From the top, you have great views over Berlin!

  • Went here in the neighbourhood of our hotel Westin look on the Huguenot Museum and climb to the terrace with beautiful views. More so that this beautiful building was opened just 10 years ago after reconstruction. The name of the French Cathedral has received, as was originally intended as a chapel for the Huguenot refugees from France. Their numbers at the beginning of the 18th century was approximately a quarter of all the inhabitants of Berlin. Truly a cathedral building can not be named because for all time of existence it had no Episcopal faculty. Museum of the history of the Huguenots did not like, but climbing the tower with a dome, built in the 18th century, were glad the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt and Berlin types. Recommend visiting just 3 euro per person.

  • This is the Französischer Dom, which essentially means The French Cathedral in German. Now, why would there be a French church in a German capital? This is where taking a walking tour is brilliant. Running through a quick history of Prussian, we know that this was built by Frederick II as an admiration of French culture. His father was known as the Soldier-King, which amassed a great Prussian army only to never had used them. Frederick on the other hand, loved culture and the arts but turned out to be the most formidable conqueror and warrior, expanding Prussia’s territory and power. He was dubbed Frederick the Great and Prussia under Frederick is often described as "not a state in possession of an army, but an army in possession of a state." The French Cathedral is located in the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt square which was expanded and made the seat of high culture by Frederick the Great. On this square are two major cathedrals, Französischer and Deutscher Dom as well as Konzerthaus Berlin. That makes this square, one of the prettiest square in Berlin.
  • Beautiful church, inside and out. A lovely place to visit and you can see it from the patio of Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt!
  • Gloriously imposing, this French cathedral signifies Berlin's openness to those arriving from other countries. A very popular square.
  • You can go up by stairs (250 steps). They don't have elevator. You will have a nice view of Berlin from tower. If you like to see the church too you need to go out and, turn right and walk to main entrance. For tower you need to but ticket.
  • A beautiful church, both externally and internally. but I recommend to visit it from the inside.
