(4.3/5 based on 15+ reviews on the web)
The DZ Bank building is an office, conference, and residential building located at Pariser Platz 3 in Berlin. It was designed by architect Frank Gehry and engineered by Hans Schober of Schlaich Bergermann & Partner. Construction began in 1998 and was completed in 2000.The building is mixed-use. Facing the Brandenburg Gate are offices, the headquarters of Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank. On the other side, facing Behrenstraße, are 39 residential apartments. Between the two is a large atrium, designed to be used as a conference or performance space. This is covered with a sophisticated glass-grid roof, curved in a complex form typical of Gehry's designs.

  • Although it is not a tourist attraction, the lobby of the DZ Bank in Berlin is one of the most fascinating works of Frank Gehry that is worth a visit. It is not highly recommended and seems to be next to the U.S. Embassy that it may not be accessed, must be approaching the lobby and goalkeeper kindly Indian us that we could go to the security zone to be able to see this wonder. People interested in contemporary architecture have an ideal city to see the latest works of the best architects in Berlin.

  • It is not known for everybody, that you can walk in the building and admire the typical Ghery curves in the foyer of the bank. It is really a hidden gem at the Brandenburg Gate.

  • An architectural gem tucked behind an anonymous facade. Inside there is a beautiful conference room in steel and glass. The reichstag if you can have a nice view from the top
