Designpanoptikum, Berlin

Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web
Described as a "surrealist museum of industrial objects," Designpanoptikum celebrates all things utilitarian, including objects from sports, aviation, medicine, and film. However, the displays are not straightforward and educational, but rather blend objects from different fields to create works of art. The installations are lit in shadow and don't offer any description; instead, you are encouraged to handle the objects and speculate about their use. Your ticket also includes entry to a photo gallery with the work of Vlad Korneev. • Amazing place. The owner is very entertaining and informative. He is a very talented artist. If we are in Berlin again, we will go back.
  • Yesterday I went to the Designpanoptikum. I found it by coincidence by a comment in an article about clinical objects. Were a good hours passed in the middle of completely foreign objects intertwined, by photographer and owner of the Museum, with other objects form a whole Ragtime. This very nice presented us the space, their job, raising relevant issues too, in his mad and humorous tone (as the Museum). I think it's a good space to be visited to get away to the institutional and Museum said to have a taste of that for me characterises Berlin!
