Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin

4.1
Discover fine Baroque and Rococo architecture at Charlottenburg Palace, the largest palace in Berlin. One of the city's most iconic landmarks, the 17th-century palace sits on an estate framed by large formal gardens, a belvedere, and mausoleum. Tour the palace's royal apartments to view an extensive collection of 18th-century French paintings and fine porcelain. Outside, you can wander through the Baroque-style landscaped courtyards. You may only take photographs inside the palace if you purchase of a permit at the entrance. Ask Inspirock to suggest an itinerary and make planning a trip to Berlin fast, fun, and easy.

  • The best thing I've seen in Berlin! But you should need time to visit the old Castle, the new wing, the new Pavilion, the mausoleum and the Belvedere. Combined admission €17, includes audio guide. Very rewarding, and this includes the magnificent park

  • We were there at the end of the day and have only visited the garden (free). Beautifully landscaped with a nice view on the lock. Definitely worth to walk through and enjoy views.

  • Enough boring place is not in the center of the city. You know, typical of such a typical Palace such park. Ponds. Views of the neighbouring houses. If time is not much, it's not worth it to come here. However if it came. visit the Palace inside. Outstanding rooms is not memorized, but places come across interesting solutions (room with a collection of porcelain, hunting Hall, etc.). Struck text audio guides. Imagine. Visit. Buy a ticket. Take the audioguide. Turn on. Hear the following text: "Now when you are logged into the Palace, go to the cashier, buy a ticket, then go into the room and get the audio guide". Long is whinnying. Well, what most usual Palace, I convinced myself through the day. When I went to Potsdam.

  • A recreation of the palace that has been under construction or reconstruction for most of its long life. Beautiful building with impressive gardens to the rear but weeds and waste ground to the front of the 'new' wing. Worth the visit but it's a long day. Staff that greet you are delightful but those in the rooms are like library attendants keen to pass you through with as little disturbance as possible.
  • Wonderful place, we were with my mother because of a tipp of my wife and we enjoyed it, lovely paths and a stream in the backyard. Beautiful sights and peaceful to take a break or a nap on three grass. I recommended this old castle with fabulous gardens that they keep in the old English and baroque style. Definitively deserve a visit you won't regret it.
  • This is a nice place to spend half a day if you’re in Berlin and have time. There are some rooms in the palace that are exceptionally beautiful, however, due in part to the war, most do not have original furnishings and many have been reproduced to mimic the originals. A great spot for history buffs, as the audio guides give detailed descriptions of the palace’s history, including its prior tenants, however, there are many other palaces/castles in Europe that exude a greater sense of decadence and majesty, and at a cost of 20€ (including a 3€ photography permission fee) to see the entire palace, it’s a relatively expensive experience.
  • With a ticket you can visit the interiors which is quite nice with a free audio guide. The staff is not the most polite though. Carrying a camera requires a different photography ticket. The outer section of the palace also is very spacious and has a nice garden, pond and a walking trail with good views of the palace.
  • Beautiful palace. Easy to get to with the U2 metro. Give yourself 3 hours to property visit the old and new wings plus the wonderful gardens. Definitely get the audio guide to get some historical context on the building and the family that lives there .the audio guides are free!. There are two more buildings in the grounds I haven't seen them yet but maybe they are worth a visit
