Discover fine Baroque and Rococo architecture at Charlottenburg Palace, the largest palace in Berlin. One of the city's most iconic landmarks, the 17th-century palace sits on an estate framed by large formal gardens, a belvedere, and mausoleum. Tour the palace's royal apartments to view an extensive collection of 18th-century French paintings and fine porcelain. Outside, you can wander through the Baroque-style landscaped courtyards. • If you have one you haven't seen reveling from the Palace sightseeing, geren is a Palace. as I said in the title is a very tasteful interior decoration of the Palace. smother rather than exclusively in gold color on the walls in various colors and patterns they preferred. incredibly spacious and relaxing garden. 2-3 If you have time go to waste time, you do not necessarily.

  • Don't expect the Royal Palace of Caserta, the size is smaller and the Palace was reconstructed and beautifully restored, but is worth a visit. We advise you to take the full ticket to see the mausoleum, and the Guest House with its collection of ceramics. And if the weather is good the walk in the garden is very pleasing. Easy to get to, like everything in Berlin, is to fit into size of Prussians.

  • Charlottenburg Castle, but rather building, is the largest and most important residence of the former Royal and imperial family of Hohenzollern in Berlin. The entire complex, in Baroque style, is characterized by extraordinary sumptuously furnished rooms and lounges, suites and high-quality collections that contain many masterpieces, including one of the largest collections of 18th century French painting outside of France. After severe damage during the second world war, the Palace was extensively restored and furnished appropriately, making the former Royal summer residence one of the main attractions of the German capital. Don't miss the garden.

  • Good place. The park is huge and worth to discover it. The castle looks nice but empty rooms. Only with its decor. No furniture which shows how the residential people who lived how they living in this castle.
  • Very beautiful! All the rooms in the palace had been very carefully designed and furnished by the queen who lived there. Each room represents a different style and its special purpose . It's a great experience to see them all in one place.
  • Totally worth it. Enormous place with a richness decoration. If you have 2/3h it's a good place to visit. Big free garden . Prepare yourself for a 3 euros for a photo permit.
  • It was free to walk around the palace grounds. It was very beautiful and serene. We had a nice relaxing walk through the gardens. Overall a great location in Berlin, with not too many tourists. Also the toilets were clean!
  • We skipped the audio guide because we were with a toddler but this was a mistake. The additional context would have greatly enhanced the experience. Otherwise it's an over the top palace highlighting the infamous divide from the very rich. We did however enjoy the Christmas market in front with great food and many stalls. And even rides for children.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
