Large international shopping Temple, away from the usual 08 15 stores. The tenants change often, so that there is never a dull moment. There is a Starbucks, and a large food court. The building is clean, to reach with public transport, and a garage. For me a perfect shopping opportunity.

Incredibly nice shoppings Centre in the heart of Berlin and a few steps from Alexandre space. It is a huge center in 5 floors, the top floor is fitness and bowling. You can get many hours to go in there to look at the shops. In the basement there is also 2 supermarkets and several shops. Not very disabled, then only escalators no elevator.

One of the many shopping centers in Berlin. The outside looks in my opinion less pretty than the inside. Inside is everything. A large Zara to a small Bookstore. You can certainly entertain a while.

  • This is supposed to be a themed on the movie Metropolis, I don't see it myself. It looks like art-deco, minus the lavish use of materials that defines art-deco. It has a great model railway on the top floor that you should see at the end of any trip to Berlin.
  • A decent mall with lots of shops and a standard selection of fast food. It's not pretty but it's adequate. Accessibility appears to be quite good.
  • Another giant shopping mall. Brief review - "It's convenient" It's not as if we won't already have enough of them. The Media Markt was a nice addition until the giant Saturn across the street opened its doors. Both belonging to Media-Saturn-Holding so it's basically the same store twice. So take your pick. The security at the mall is rude. There have been several occasions on which they started to yell at kids outside of the mall for sitting around on a park bench. The food court is nothing I would really recommend. Sure you can grab a quick bite but don't expect too much. It is just a shopping mall after all.
  • Fine shopping mall with Cinema. They open the food court on Sundays so it's cool to grab a bite.
  • Worst enterence ever! For one of the busiest shopping malls in Berlin, you would think they would come up with automated doors, or some other alternative. Anything is better than +- 40 people struggling with 8 highly sprung manual doors.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
