Experience the emerald-green waters and idyllic mountain scenery of Konigssee. Formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age, the natural lake is a popular site for boating and watersports. It is said to have the cleanest water in all of Germany. You can take a scenic boat ride across the lake for a laid-back afternoon. Or you can take a long hike around the lush, tree-lined perimeter of the lake and in the surrounding Berchtesgaden National Park. Don't miss the infamous pilgrimage site of St. Bartholomew's church on the lake's western shore at the foot of the Austrian Alps. Our Berchtesgaden travel itinerary maker makes visiting Konigssee and other Berchtesgaden attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.
