Hotel Zum Turken WWII Bunkers, Berchtesgaden

Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web
Once seized by the Nazis and used as a bunker, Hotel Zum Turken WWII Bunkers, built in 1911, now serves as an upscale hotel. Although the guestrooms are modern, visitors can still descend a spiral staircase to explore the historic, 1943 underground hallways and tunnels where SS soldiers once hid out. (Many guests say it's a spooky experience.) With no tour guides available, you're on your own to explore; take a German/English dictionary if you can't read the local language.
