  • We are not no real museum visitors. But in this documentation centre in the old Guest House of the unfortunately demolished in 1952 Berghof we are already two times. It highlights all the facets of the second world war very well. Especially the tunnels are very impressive.

  • If the visit of the "Eagle nest" is not very interesting, except for the view in good weather, the visit of this Documentation Centre which traces, in a way very complete history of taking possession of the Obersalzberg by Hitler, but especially to put this story in perspective with the main aspects of the Nazi dictatorship, is incredibly exciting. Documents submitted, films, photographs, sound recordings, explanatory, plans, tables etc. are of such high quality, the structure of the exhibition of such a requirement to confront the visitor with the staggering historical reality, for thought-provoking and analysis, that is clear from this visit upset. Some photos are difficult to watch but it is this difficulty that honors the Germans to have the courage to ask, by this center of Documentation, such a look without concession on their recent history. In addition to the exhibition interesting visit a preserved part of the bunker that allows to have an idea of the importance of these facilities. Really, if you go through Berchtesgaden, don't miss this visit certainly not very "recreational" but essential to have a more comprehensive look at the history of the twentieth century.
