  • This was a wonderful place to visit and we learned a great deal from our guide. The size of the palace and the display of wealth was mind boggling.  more »
  • This is one of the more opulent clerical residences to be found anywhere. It was built at a time where the bishop filled both a clerical and temporal role as ruler of Bamberg, and was known as a Princ...  more »
  • From the outside it looks like a majestic and beautiful structure, coming in to visit the garden I was disappointed by the sight of a few speckled flowers... seemed to be in a cemetery. Also the view from above is disappointing, it is not high enough to be able to admire the city from above.

  • It was as majestic as the surrounding buildings. It had a beautiful garden we explored. We did not go into the castle but the cathedral and courtyard nearby gave you a sense of mediaeval times. At the garden was a beautiful lookout over the city.
  • Have to go on a guided tour at a set time. The tour is in German. There are guidebooks with information in English. Restoration work is being carried out to the main hall. At the end of the tour there are a few rooms with displays that you can look at at your leisure. Would have given it a higher rating if was allowed to go around at your own pace.
  • Unfortunately there is a construction going on and a koncert scene set, so it was a little bit hard to enjoy around. But it is an excellent place to rest after city tour.
  • Historically appeaing and nice place to visit
  • Cash only. So I wasn’t able to get in.
