The luxurious former home of Bamberg's prince-bishops, Neue Residenz was built in 1613 and has more than 40 stucco-ceilinged state rooms adorned with furniture and tapestries from the 17th and 18th centuries. The palace's Emperor's Hall on the second floor contains 16 huge portraits of previous emperors. (The elaborate space can be rented for private events.)The Elector's Rooms and the Prince-Bishop's Apartments are also noteworthy. Be sure to visit the Rose Garden in the inner court before leaving for a view of St. Michael's Church and Bamberg's rooftops. なぜこんな小さな街にこれだけ豪華なレジデンスがあるのか、と思うほど豪華です。バラ園は9月でも花がたくさん咲いていました。このバラ園から眺めるバンベルクの街は、いかにもドイツらしい屋根が一面に連なっていて本当に素敵です（屋根しか見えないという意見もありますが、私は好きです笑）。So why is this luxurious residence in a small town, and I think is gorgeous. Rose garden was blooming flowers in September.
