St. Anne's Church, Augsburg
(4.4/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
The medieval St. Anne's Church-- the earliest example of Renaissance architecture in German--was originally part of a monastery built in 1321. You not only can see the apartment where Martin Luther, the seminal figure of the Protestant Reformation, stayed during his visit to the monastery (now a small museum itself), but you also can visit the grand Fugger chapel, the burial place for the prominent family of that name. The structure's elaborate interior features a ceiling with colorful frescoes and intricate stuccowork. • That was not to be expected that this church in Augsburg is so many interesting notes and explanations. You must take your time and go into the details. That's enough (written as personal) leaders are.

  • Charming little Protestant church More like a private chapel for the Fuggers. Kept in beautiful condition.
  • I visited the town a day in summer by myself and have happened in this beautiful church. It's not pompous but rich in Baroque details. You can visit the chapel of the Fuggers and goldsmiths. I was very surprised by this hidden Church, worth a visit!

  • Wundervolle Kirche mit einer beeindruckenden Orgel.
  • Here they celebrated the first Liturgy of Protestant doctrine. The old church of the 15th century, as the convent to which it belongs (very nice the cloister full of ancient burials), was embellished with Baroque decorative elements and features a double choir with the most interesting is the Western one, with Fuggerkapelle, born to the family of wealthy bankers, beautiful Renaissance work.

  • A carefully renovated church with a small museum on the subject of Luther and his life in Augsburg. In any case, among the 10 places you must see in Augsburg.

  • St. Anna is one of the Urkirchen of the Evangelical Church worldwide. Here, in the monastery, Martin Luther lived 1518 during his Verhöres by the sweeping Cajetan.
