Augsburg Zoo, Augsburg

(3.6/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Opened in 1937, Augsburg Zoo now contains more than 1,600 animals of 300 species from around the globe. Although it's small, the zoo is home to an impressive variety of creatures, such as white rhinos, Asian and African elephants, and brown bears, which you can observe in their pool through a glass partition. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even ride one of the elephants. After visiting the animals, cool off in one of the dining rooms, where you'll find a buffet and self-service drink machines. Kids will love visiting the petting zoo to pet and brush goats, sheep, ponies, and other gentle animals. The attraction also includes a mini railroad and a playground with natural-wood climbing toys. • I was once like in the Agsburger Zoo. Now you can find only unfriendly staff and dirt in the public sector as well as in the enclosures. I am gladly willing to pay money, that the animals have a beautiful home, but the money is used in the prices and the found that otherwise. Catering to recommend expensive and not great. What a pity.. but as I continue a bit better.

  • Liked us really well in the Augsburg Zoo. Since our last visit about 7 years ago but a lot has happened and really to the positive. The Zoo is of course not so huge as it is known E.g. from Wilhelma. For this, one can create the visit well with younger children without you must wear them or go only in the car. The animals and enclosure are clean and nice to look at. Unfortunately no giraffes were more in the Zoo during our visit, but this is not really bad. We have not tested the gastronomy. But the great playgrounds. These were and still an absolute highlight to the end!

  • Good day trip for families with (small)-kindern animals, playground and good gastronomy. Also for seniors with grandchildren a great tip.
