3.6/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web
Opened in 1937, Augsburg Zoo now contains more than 1,600 animals of 300 species from around the globe. Although it's small, the zoo is home to an impressive variety of creatures, such as white rhinos, Asian and African elephants, and brown bears, which you can observe in their pool through a glass partition. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even ride one of the elephants. After visiting the animals, cool off in one of the dining rooms, where you'll find a buffet and self-service drink machines. Kids will love visiting the petting zoo to pet and brush goats, sheep, ponies, and other gentle animals. The attraction also includes a mini railroad and a playground with natural-wood climbing toys. • Despite the lack of any glitz, this zoo produces a very pleasant impression. Meerkats that funny behave at arm's length, lemurs are crossing the track on which you yourself go-this is not even in the huge Munich Zoo. Hatchling rhino, lots of birds under the net-shed, a large area for the free movement of various animals, brown bear etc-this Zoo has a unique charm, pleasant place. Nearby is the Botanical Garden. Recommend to visit.

  • The Zoo in Augsburg is really beautiful, worth a visit. You can see the animals up close in the enclosure and the terrain is built so that you can perfectly make a great tour and it all looks / not risk running to run. Once in a year is almost mandatory!
