Augsburg Zoo, Augsburg

4.0
Opened in 1937, Augsburg Zoo now contains more than 1,600 animals of 300 species from around the globe. Although it's small, the zoo is home to an impressive variety of creatures, such as white rhinos, Asian and African elephants, and brown bears, which you can observe in their pool through a glass partition. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even ride one of the elephants. After visiting the animals, cool off in one of the dining rooms, where you'll find a buffet and self-service drink machines. Kids will love visiting the petting zoo to pet and brush goats, sheep, ponies, and other gentle animals. The attraction also includes a mini railroad and a playground with natural-wood climbing toys. • Typical of a Zoo restaurants. Great, good selection, also on children discussed. No gourmet food, but good and reasonably priced.

  • The Augsburg Zoo has to offer something for big and small. Vore invite especially in the summer the large outdoor areas for walking and relaxing. For children there is a playground. Also the Botanical Garden is located directly does and offer some things above all in full bloom. It is recommended the Zoo and to undertake the botanical garden as a common day trip if you are childless. With children, the Zoo because of the multitude of impressions sufficient.

  • To be honest this is not a bad zoo by any means, but it simply isn't good enough to justify more than 3 stars, and main reasons are this: Far too many birds. Ducks of any size, shape and color, then some other birds and then some more ducks. On the plus size, watery areas for them are really nice. Also, generally there are simply not enough exotic animals out here, and if you're not lucky and they are sleeping somewhere in shade you basically won't see anything. Will probably not happen often, but it will happen. And on top of that, price of 10 euro per person is really too much for zoo of this size and content. 5 I would tolerate, 10 is just too much. Still, if you are in the area and have few extra bucks hop and visit it. It's also worth mentioning that there are a lot of trees so even when it's broad daylight you won't burn out while walking around...
  • Good place to visit but it's small and not many animals exhibits compared to the zoo in Zagreb.
  • Great family outing with a wide variety of animals and a park layout that lets you see everything without getting lost
  • I feel like this zoo is a bit worn down and the animals - birds especially could have more space. We've also had major difficulties finding a parking spot, despite of the huge parking area around it. Don't get me wrong, it is still a nice zoo to got too, but on the other hand München is pretty close with the most awesome zoo. We also didn't get the benefit of "smaller zoo, smaller crowd", so again, you might as well go to München instead.
  • nice n beautiful city .. the zoo is not so big but have lot of nice landscapes and trees .. animals r healthy n active .. also got 2 Spielplätzen, kinder bahn, restaurant and Biergarten.
