  • The Atta cave in Attendorn is really worth a visit. A spacious car park is only a short walk to the cave entrance. The cave can be visited only in part of a guided tour. A total of 1.6 km leads through varied cave rooms with varied and very interesting structures.

  • A beautiful limestone cave full of stalactites, stalagmites and stalagnates, and sintered flags and curtains. The large impressive 16 x flag curtain is estimated 2.5 million years old! At one point still gorgeous cave crystals were filed and on one of the furthest places they grow even from the ceiling down! It is quite amazing when you consider this meter high stalactites to admire that are barely grow 1 mm in 10 years (or in other words 1 cm in 100 years!). Our guide Jonathan has spoken loud and clear, you could understand him well. In at least two of the larger caves he has used a microphone, so even the rearmost of the Group super have understood him, and even trash cans are placed even in some places which I find very helpful. Note it's many stairs to the up and descend is making a visit by disabled people is not possible. The visit has fallen very, very well me and my wife and the 8.50 Euro entrance fee are also appropriate for the proposed. Although it is a shame that you do no photos, but has also so more time to better to look at the magnificent stalactites and must not go around to photographers or hold out until they are finished, it has also its advantages. There is also a large parking lot and 2.50 for parking charges are also appropriate. Sanitary facilities are large and clean, also there is a restaurant and a souvenir shop in which it partially right to buy cheap souvenirs there.
