  • The Rhine gate was built around 1200 and was the main entrance of the city by the Rhine. The two Romanesque stone heads that are about the inner arch, are called the "Andernacher Baker boy".

  • Cool piece of history. The Rhine gate support entry to the city. Interestingly-it are attached a Memorial plate showing the status of the high water nawiedzającej from time to time, the city lying directly on the river. You have to admit, from doing it. Water level was really high

  • The Rhine gate to the old city is the direct footpath from the Rhine to the city centre. At that time, early experienced Baker boys protected the city before the attack of Linz (other side of the Rhine) by you threw hives on the attacker. The city gate itself can be read off highs of the Rhine the flood. Too bad that the underlying Rheinstrasse so has degenerated.
