  • We have borrowed at the port around € 7,00 a bike us and thus went to the lighthouse. After the climb we had beautiful views of the island and the Wadden Sea. We were one of the first. Then came two classes and since it is already very tight.

  • Unfortunately we were just marvel at the views. The rise for visitors is closed at 12:30. The rise is only for people with good condition, especially the last section only by a very narrow iron ladder to reach. The view is terrific but!

  • Beautiful view, highly recommended for a panoramic view of Amrum. When visibility is good, you can see also Föhr and Sylt. The Lighthouse is in good condition and always a trip.

  • We were actually just because this tower on the island. But when we arrived with the bus, which took his money, he was closed without warning. Robbery was behind this great promotion, but nothing.

  • The large Amrum...... is the oldest German lighthouse, it was built in 1874 and went on the night of the 01 on the 02 January 1875 in operation. The base is 1, 74 metres high and 2, 00 m thick. The outer wall of the tower is a solid stone masonry with a thickness up to 1, 75 m. In the former official announcement, you can read these lines: "the dune height 25 metres, the height of the flame 63 metres and the height of the tower to tip 67, 7 meters above"ordinaire"flood." The light is a Blinkfeuer 1st order. It shows a period of 20 seconds, of which 6 seconds on the light and fall 14 seconds on the blackout. It shines in all directions equally bright paper document that suddenly appears and disappears suddenly. "If the air is clear, the light is 20 to 24 nautical miles, about 37 to 45 kilometers, will visible." First of all however, was-today the lighthouse a kerosene light as a source of fire, every night was difficult vorstellbar-a more Guard troops for its operation in use. The rotation of the prisms reinforcing the power of the light was provided by a kind of movement, whose Gewichte (much like a grandfather clock) in a shaft of the tower were hanging. The Amrum lighthouse with a 2000 watt bulb is only operated since 1936. Today, it is a metal halide lamp 250 Watts at 230 volts. This Lighthouse is to climb with an incredible view over the island and the Wadden Sea. Be a unique experience, in fine weather "that can see half of the world', he must be visited.
