  • Nice flat – well signposted by the Castle and its museums. Initially the Museum World Youth Hostel - 1909 was founded here the first youth Hostel in D. It is quite a bit from this period. Then via several steps further through the castle with Museum and special exhibitions. Nice, informative, well signposted - a small Downer. The room to the NS time tucked, in him, it was almost dark, difficult to see exhibits. Mention I have still the impressive views from the Windows in the Tower City and Valley.

  • A medieval castle that became the world's first youth hostel. Amazing to see, very historical. Well worth making the drive to see!
  • Very nice place in very nice cosy village. Come to Altena on Sunday and go tho the Fleumarkt! The castle is another reason to come to this city. Even to wonder around the castle worth to come here.
  • What a great place to visit. Well worth taking the elevator up and going through all the exhibits. Very well done, informative and easy to follow tour. Great for kids as well with lots of armor and weapons towards the end of the tour. Would go again in a heartbeat.
  • Just okay honestly. Nothing spectacular but it is interesting to know that the world's first youth hostel is located in it!
  • Drove 1.5 hrs to visit, not really worth the trip.
