  • Alpirsbach is nestled in a valley in the Black Forest. The setting is very picturesque. The monastery is very interesting. They brew a great variety of very good beers. There is a shop where you can p...  read more »
  • Before anything, a small comment on the village of Alpirsbach: it is difficult to find a parking, and any site, doubts if you can or can not Park. Finally we found what appeared to be a free parking is beyond the train station but, honestly, I did not the car very quiet (because I had "bad" experiences with the theme parking Europe). At the end everything. Fines and car on your website :-) Next to the Cistercian cloister stands brewery, unmistakable with its high chimney. The visit is guided (in German) and have to reserve time in the store which is located just across the street. The meeting point is next to the front door. With the entry, can enjoy the Museum, the old factory and, ultimately, taste a couple of pints of beer brand (offer 6 different specialties) as you pass a video with the story of Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu (also in German). There is another option that includes, along with beer, a small lunch: a sausage of indescribable appearance but that, as they were eating, should be good and a pretzel as a bread (you can also buy for €2.00). Being an extremely interesting visit, the language barrier and long explanations of the Guide, I understand that fully justified, they do that at the end you feel uncomfortable and tired and just want to take the couple of beers and follow your path. Ah! The entry also have a small detail of gift: a decorative pitcher of beer that you pick up in the store at the end of the visit. In any case, combining the monastery with brewery and take a coffee with pastries in one of the bitegarden of the people makes the day very satisfactory. Totally recommended.

  • We've got a very informative and humorous guided tour through the historic brewing rooms. The leadership with a beer tasting takes about 1.5 hours and is the 7 euros-worth every penny. A small gift is also waiting for one. We will be back!

  • One of my favourite German brewers so it's great to be able to visit the shop here. Many beers of course, but also some very nice schnapps available and lots of other items (glasses, mugs, tee-shirts, etc) available in the shop. The prices are a little high, but also very good quality and great tasting beers!
  • A fun and informative tour!
  • The Museum and the leadership are quite interesting, however you can see very little of the actual manufacturing process. For this, that's subsequent Vespers and the beer tasting very good, the selection is very broad. Beer is simply delicious
